Finally, the wait is over! The long expected and the first Android smartphone from the trusted brand, Nokia is out. Putting an end to all rumours and speculations, HMD Global, subsidiary of Nokia, has launched the Nokia 6 for Chinese market, forget all the names that was leaked earlier. The smartphone will be retailing in China for CNY 1699 (approx Rs 17,000) and will be available for purchase on JD.com.
Apparently, the Nokia 6, features a 5.5-inch full-HD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass wrapped around it. The mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC is powering the smartphone alongside 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage. It runs the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS.
The Nokia 6 sports a metal unibody with fingerprint sensor integrated onto the home button. Nokia phones are better known for their quality cameras, and that comes with an f/2.0 16MP rear camera with phase detection auto focus (PDAF), as well as an 8-megapixel f/2.0 front camera. On audio front, it includes Dolby Atmos tech and ‘dual amplifiers’ for louder sound. The phone is backed by a 3000 mAh battery.
The phone will be exclusive for China at least for now, and will be available for purchase in early 2017. Nokia fans in India have no luck at this time as the phone is not going to launch in India anytime sooner. This is the first Android smartphone from Nokia brand so we can expect some extravagant features packed inside the phone. HMD Global won’t stop with just Nokia 6 and a lot more devices to come in H1 2017.
