OnePlus has finally taken the wraps off this year’s flagship smartphone following a series of leaks over the past few weeks. The OnePlus 3 smartphone is now officially announced and available. The new phone goes on sale right away, which can be purchased directly from OnePlus. The handset packs high-end specifications as usual cutting down a few hundred of dollars against other comparable smartphones that fall into the same category.
At a price tag of $399, that translates to roughly Rs. 27,000 bucks, the OnePlus 3 packs a bunch of latest and premium specs. The handset has a 5.5-inch AMOLED display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor, 6GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel camera with optical stabilization, a fingerprint scanner, 64GB of storage, dual-SIM support, and a 3,000mAh battery. The screen only offers 1080p resolution, but you might find 2K displays on other phones in the sub-$400 categories.
On the front, you get an 8MP Sony IMX179 sensor with 1080p video capturing. The front camera supports electronic image stabilization, which should improve the selfie videos. The handset runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Oxygen launcher on top.
The OnePlus 3 features all-aluminum design, NFC and quick charging features that were lacking in last year’s OnePlus 2. The company says its Dash Charge feature will provide up to 60 percent charge in just 30 minutes, and allows you to play games and do other intensive tasks while fast charging. The device will be available in two colors: graphite gray and gold.
With this year’s edition, OnePlus is ditching the traditional invite system to buy the phone as the company says that it has surplus supplies at the launch, so customers can get it right away. Once the stock is depleted, the website would provide realistic shipping dates. In India, the OnePlus 3 will be selling for Rs. 27,999 or $416.
