The phone features a slim and sleek design packed inside a metal unibody ditching the sandstone-textured removable back panel. From the leaked images, we assume that the phone’s design has been completely inspired from Apple’s iPhone design language
The camera unit at the back has undergone a complete change. Instead of usual round lens that saw in previous models, the new phone bears a square shaped lens with flash being placed at the bottom. In the previous outings, the flash was placed at the top of the lens. The antenna stripes at the top and bottom give a premium look that stretches to the edge of the phone similar to Apple’s iPhone design.
At the bottom edge, we can see a 3.5mm audio jack on the right, speaker grills on the left and the USB Type-C port remains at the center. There’s a home button under the screen which would double as a fingerprint sensor. The leaker even says that the handset will come with an AMOLED display and a 3000mAh battery.
According to benchmarking sites, the phone has passed certification tagged RAIN A3000. If this is the phone that we are speaking about, then it will be sporting a 5-inch full-HD display, a Snapdragon 820 chipset with an Adreno 530 GPU. It is said to come in two versions – 4GB and 6GB RAM. Internal storage options would be 34GB and 64GB and it would probably have128GB variant as well.
The OnePlus 3 is expected to come with a 16MP rear camera along with an 8MP front camera. The phone will be running the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow skinned Oxygen OS 3.0. The company has already worked on Dash Charge tech for quick charging and it will be employed in the phone too. There isn’t any word on launch date but some reports claim May 18 and others May 28.
