OnePlus, the first company to make use of nascent VR technology for its product launch, will be bringing some big surprises on June 3. Carl Pei, founder OnePlus, has proudly mentioned in a blog post that Samsung was the second company to launch a product in VR. The company will be launching its custom-built VR headset – Loop VR headset on June 3, well in advance, ensuring that each visitor coming to its OnePlus 3 launch would have a one to experience ‘The Loop’ – OnePlus’ virtual shopping space.
The catch here is the company is offering first 30,000 units of the Loop VR headset for free with shipping. Dare to ask it! In case if you missed registering on the company’s site, you can pull out one for you at Rs. 1 on Amazon’s Loop VR page which excludes shipping, though. You’ll be able to claim yours when it goes on sale on Amazon on June 3 or June 7.
The company previously had shipped Google Cardboard for free at the time of OnePlus 2 launch. This time, they are taking it to a bit further. The statement reads, “Forget cardboard, this year we’re excited to bring you the OnePlus Loop VR Headset – for a more robust, immersive and comfortable experience. Loop VR is beautiful, and developed together with our buddies at AntVR who are pros at VR optics. We’re confident that this year’s experience will be vastly improved.”
“Doing the world’s first product launch in VR was cool in 2015. In 2016, the OnePlus 3 launch will be the world’s first global shopping experience in VR. Visitors to The Loop will be able to order the OnePlus 3 before anyone else, in VR.”
