The augmented reality game Pokemon Go has been growing rapidly in fame as well as installations since it was launched. However, the privacy issues and some bugs, including the recent update that banned the integration of third-party trackers, killing the nearby tracking feature haven’t stopped the game making miracles in the gaming industry.

According to a new report by App Annie, App store intelligence, the Pokemon Go has now reached over 100 million installations that are particularly 25 million in late July. It also surpassed the previous record set by Color Switch app that saw 50 million downloads in 77 days, but the game easily outperformed the record in just 19 days.

App Annie also reported that the game has reached over $10 million in daily revenues from both iOS and Android apps, after its release of three weeks time. The report also says that it had some revenue dip on other top games for a few days, but they regained quickly. As a whole, the game doesn’t have an adverse effect on other such applications. Eventually, the game even popularized other augmented reality games and had set some standards on how an augmented reality game should be.

“By now, it should be clear that Pokemon Go‘s launch was a watershed moment for AR and its success has not come at the expense of other mobile games or apps,” the report concluded. “Instead, it has opened up new engagement and revenue opportunities for the entire app ecosystem by creating a model to close the online-to-offline (O2O) loop.”
