As the launch event of Sony’s new X series of smartphones is arriving around the corner, the company has started accepting pre-registrations for the Xperia X and Xperia XA smartphones on its official India website. If you’d like to know all info about the launch well ahead of others and wanted to secure some exciting launch offers then sign up on Sony’s India website. The Xperia X series of smartphones made their debut at MWC 2016 back in February with the Xperia X, Xperia XA, and Xperia X Performance.
However, the Xperia X Performance isn’t making to India at this time. Let’s assume it will be launched sometime later this year. The company isn’t revealing the prices for the phones for India but we can expect them to get over the air near the launch. The Xperia X and XA will be available in White, Graphite Black, Lime Gold and Rose Gold color options. It is expected that they will go on sale in India starting this summer.
In terms of specifications, the Xperia X packs a 5-inch 1080p Triluminos display, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage (up to 200GB). There’s a 23-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor, predictive hybrid autofocus, and pulse LED flash; a 13-megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 aperture, a 2620mAh battery and comes with 4G LTE support as well.
The Sony Xperia XA comes with a 5-inch 720p display powered by Mobile Bravia engine 2. It packs a MediaTek MT6755 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, a microSD expansion slot, a 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front camera and a 2300mAh battery.
Both phones run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Sony’s UI atop. The Sony Xperia X and XA were retailing at EUR 599 (approx. Rs 45,000) and EUR 299 (approx. Rs. 22,500) in the European region. And, we expect these smartphones could be priced around the same price tag in India too.
