Sleep Number is well acclaimed for its smart SleepIQ beds and the company will be showcasing a new mattress that quantifies your sleep this year at the CES. The company has taken the technology to the next level, that lets the new smart bed – the It bed connect with other health and fitness apps and provides suggestions to you to have a better sleep. Based on your biometric readings, the smart bed will adjust its firmness level.
The It bed is equipped with Sleep IQ biometric sensors that measures your heart rate and physical activities and more and offers suggestions based on your health condition. The highlight of the bed is the “Active Comfort” technology, which adjust the foam-filled chambers for you ideal sleeping positions. It is achieved by recording your daily sleeping patterns and the SleepIQ will adjust the firmness level accordingly.
There’s also a Sleep IQ API that connects to your health tracking apps and devices to enhance its application. For instance, if you have a meeting in the morning, it will tell you to go to bed at a certain time, providing that you have minimum hours of sleep. Also, it will ask you to go to bed based on when you had your dinner.
The Sleep IQ API will be available as an option to all SleepIQ beds in 2016. The smart bed It bed will be available in six different sizes and it will go on sale sometime in 2016. You can get this smart bed for around $1000.
