SRS-X99 wireless speaker

The latest addition to the Indian line-up from Sony is the SRS-X99 wireless speaker. Priced at Rs. 49,990 ($739), the wireless speaker is the premium offering that offers an output of 154 watts, more than enough to occupy your room with precise, hi-resolution and immersive audio. The SRS-X99 packs in seven speakers – two super tweeters, two front tweeters, two mid-range drivers and a single subwoofer.

The SRS-X99 supports playback of a wide variety of Hi-Resolution music files including MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, FLAC, AIFF, ALAC, and DSD. You’ll be able to stream music through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, and NFC. With Sony’s LDAc technology, you can now stream high-quality Bluetooth audio from compatible devices with three times data transfer capability over the standard Bluetooth speakers.

Aside, there’s an inbuilt media player that let users play music from a USB drive and supports high-resolution audio files up to 24-bit/192kHz for flac, alac, aiff, and wav files. If you want to create a muti-room line, the SRS-X99 is the perfect blaster to design your own audio world. The SongPal app available for Android and iOS fulfills this task. It works similar to the Sony SRS-ZR5 and SRS-ZR7 that made their debut at CES last month.

Embedded Wi-Fi allows for accessing iTunes via Airplay or Spotify content via a Wi-Fi network or accessing music files on a DLNA compatible PC or Home Media Server. Bluetooth and NFC connectivity supports easy setup and streaming. It also carries the ability to playback songs in a laptop via a network like DLNA.

The Sony SRS-X99 is a marvelous piece designed especially for music lovers and if you’re in the market just go for it.
