Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the launch of highly anticipated Mi 6 and Mi 6 plus will take place on April 19th through official press invites. The flagship devices will be unveiled at its upcoming press conference in Beijing, China.
There have been enough leaks and rumours related to the upcoming Mi 6 series and the recent benchmark run has given us the early glimpse of what to expect under the hoods. The 2017 flagship phone from the house of Xiaomi will feature impressive hardware. It will come with a 5.1-inch 1080p display, QUALCOMM Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The larger Mi 6 Plus will sport a 5.7-inch screen.
The minimization of screen bezels have emerged as a biggest trend in 2016 and followed by this year. Xiaomi was the first OEM that took the mobile market space with the launch of Mi Mix last year with major brand like LG and Samsung joined the portfolio. We believe that Xiaomi will follow the same trend with Mi 6, and if it comes with a slim bezel, then it will be finest options on the market with the latest Snapdragon 835. The other two flagships announced this year with the latest Snapdragon 835 – Samsung Galaxy S8 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium.
The pricing details of the phone have been leaked as well. The regular 5.1-inch Mi 6 with 4GB RAM plus 64GB inbuilt storage will carry a price tag of CNY 2,199 (approx. $320 / Rs. 20,000) while the 128GB variant is expected to be priced at CNY 2,599 (approx. $377 / Rs. 24,000).
