Xiaomi, today announced the third generation of its most popular outing, the Redmi 3 smartphone. The phone is now listed on the company’s Chinese site that will retail at RMB 699 (roughly Rs. 7,000), and it will go on sale in Chine starting Tuesday on mi.com and TMall.
The new Redmi 3 sports a full metal body and “an all-new lattice design, made up of 4166 stars woven together to reflect a gorgeous arrangement of diamonds,” the company said in the press release. As far specs, you’ll get a 5-inch 720p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 chipset, Adreno405 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory, an extension memory slot up to 128GB, and packs a massive 4,100mAh battery.
On the Camera front, it sports a 13-megapixel sensor on the back and a 5-meagapixels on the front. The rear camera features f/ 2.0 aperture, PDAF autofocus, and also supports 1080p full-HD video recording. Measuring 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5mm and weighing in at 144g, the handset runs Android-based MIUI 7 OS. The dual-SIM phone supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, Glonass, GPRS/ EDGE, Micro-USB, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity. It will be available in Gold, Grey, and Silver colors.
