Top 10 Scooters Showcased at the Auto Expo 2016

Several two-wheeler manufacturers have showcased their two-wheelers and also launched their two-wheelers at the 13th edition of the Auto Expo.

Here’s the round up of the top scooters that are showcased at the event.

1Peugeot Speedfight

Mahindra has displayed the French automaker Peugeot’s range of scooters at the event, one of the they are the stylish and trendy Speedfight.

The sporty edge scooter is powered by a 125cc liquid-cooled four-stroke engine that’s mated to an automatic CVT transmission.

2Aprilia SR 150

Aprilia backed by Piaggio has displayed a stylish crossover dubbed the SR 150. The scooter is designed to cater the younger audiences, which is powered by a 150cc engine and features 14-inch wheels, analog instrument cluster, and more.

The engine is mated to an automatic transmission. The SR 150 is the first scooter from the brand to be launched in India sometime later this year.

3TVS Dazz

TVS has showcased their automatic scooter, the Dazz, which is already available in the international market. The scooter is powered by a 109cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke engine developing 8.34bhp and 8.3Nm of torque, clubbed to an automatic transmission. There’s no word on when the scooter will be launched in India.

4Yamaha N-Max

Yamaha’s N-Max, the maxi scooter was displayed at the company’s pavilion, but the company isn’t telling whether the scooter will be launched in India. The scooter packs in several technologies and is powered by a 125cc four-valve, single-cylinder engine that churns out 15.2bhp and 14.4Nm of torque.

5Yamaha Fascino Special Edition

Yamaha has showcased yet another fascinating scooter, the Fascino special edition, which is the upgraded version of the outgoing model. The Fascino was launched back in mid-2015 and the powerplant of the scooter is fulfilled by a 100cc mill that is good for 7bhp. The scooter is available in Cool Cobalt, Sassy Cyan, Rogue Red, Haute White and Tuxedo Black colors. Yamaha hasn’t revealed any details about the launch and pricing, however, it is expected to carry a price tag around Rs. 55,000.

6Peugeot Django

The French maker also displayed an entry-level scooter at their pavilion, the Django. Powering the scooter is the 125cc carbureted, 4-stroke, an air-cooled engine that develops 10bhp of power and it is equipped with tons of impressive goodies. Just like Speedfight, there’s no word on when it would hit the stores.

7Suzuki Access 125

Suzuki has showcased the 2016 model of Access 125, the revamped version of the current outgoing model. The new Access 125 gets more chrome detailing and refreshed styling cues. There’s an optional disc brake at the front as well. The updated Access 125 will take on the like of Honda Activa 125 upon launching.

8Mahindra Gusto 125

Aside its international scooter lineup, Mahindra has also showcased its homegrown Gusto 125 that was unveiled last month. The scooter is powered by a 125cc engine that produces 8.6bhp and 10Nm of torque. The Gusto 125 will be rivaling with the Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125.

9Yamaha Cygnus Ray-ZR

Another impressive outing from Yamaha is the refreshed version of the existing Ray-Z model, the Cygnus Ray-ZR. Although there are no changes to the engine, the scooter is equipped with the company’s latest Blue Core Technology and a new instrument cluster. The scooter retains the same 113cc air-cooled, 4-storke engine that is mated to a CVT transmission.

10Hero Maestro Edge Facelift

India’s largest two-wheeler firm – Hero has showcased the facelift version of its popular lineup, the Maestro Edge. The new Maestro Edge comes with an all new paint scheme but retains the same 110.9cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 8.bhp and 8.3Nm of torque.
