Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update

Microsoft has started rolling out the Anniversary Update to PCs starting this week, and the tech titan is planning to release the update for mobile consumers. The Anniversary Update comes with a bunch of new features and tweaks, while the mobile version of the update will not have a huge deal when compared to the desktop version.

The Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update includes all the features available on the PC front, but in a mobile context. The camera app gets a new panorama options as well as some tweaks. The lock-screen button has been tweaked to double as a camera button as well for devices that lag dedicated hardware button for the camera.

The mobile version also includes the new Skype app, that’s identical to the universal Skype app available on the PC version of Windows 10. The Settings app also saw some tweaks for better identification and navigation. You can set priorities for notifications in the Action Center. Microsoft has also added media controls to the lock screen, support for fingerprint readers, and a new Microsoft Wallet app that supports contactless payments on the Lumia 650, 950, and 950 XL. Cortana has also been tweaked slightly with a new feature that lets the digital assistant find your phone for you. Of course, it wouldn’t be an update without new emoji so there are plenty of new characters to choose from.
