Xiaomi has launched the pro variant of its most popular Redmi 3 flagship on Tuesday in China. The new device boasts some upgrades in the memory, storage and features fingerprint scanner over the standard Redmi 3 phone.
The new Redmi 3 Pro comes with premium specs like 3GB of RAM, 32GB storage and a fingerprint scanner. Apart from these, other specs remain the same, that being said, it still features a 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 9 screen resolution, and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 616 SoC clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 405 GPU and a microSD expansion of up to 128GB.
In terms of camera, it still retains the same 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture PDAF autofocus, and also supports 1080p full-HD video recording. There is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera as well which also supports full-HD recording while battery also remains same tipping at 4100mAh.
The phone supports dual-SIM functionality and includes 4G LTE connectivity, and other standard connectivity options including Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, Glonass, GPRS/ EDGE, Micro-USB, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. Running Android 5.1 Lollipop, the new device will be available in silver, grey and gold color options.
The Redmi 3 Pro is priced at RMB 899 ($140/Rs. 9000) and it will be going on sale starting April 6. Also, Xiaomi’s Mi Fan Festival kicks off on the same day.
