After suffered from cardiac arrest on late evening on Sunday, Tamil Nadu Honourable Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has been kept on close observation by a group of senior doctors of Apollo Hospitals. Several hundreds of party cadres and Amma supporters have gathered at the hospitals entrance looking forward for good news on Amma, fondly called by her supporters.
The Apollo Hospitals at Greams Raod has been flooded by AIADMK cadres, and people, especially women, offering prayers to Gods for her speedy recovery. Massive police forces have been deployed in and around the hospital premises and across the state as a part of preventive measures.
Apollo Hospitals on Monday morning said, “Doctors have been closely monitoring her health day and night and doing their ‘very best’ after she suffered from heart attack. “
The 68-year-old Jayalalithaa has been put on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), a heart assist device, and was under the watch of experts, including cardiologists. She has undergone a minor angiogram removing a block in one of the blood vessels pumping blood to her heart. She has been on heart assist device after her heart stops bumping blood to other parts of the body.
A group of 4 specialists, including cardiologist arriving to Chennai by air by noon and will reach Apollo Hospitals by 3PM. They are rushing to the hospitals to precede further treatment and she will be undergoing a major operation late today.
Apollo Hospitals have not yet revealed any bulletin or info about her health since late Sunday. Just a few minutes ago, AIADMK Ministers, MLAs have gathered at Apollo Hospitals and briefed about her status and what treatment had been given she her admittance by doctors at the hospital.
Union Health Minister JP Nadda said “out of danger but needs ICU facilities.” He Also Said We are in constant touch with Apollo and Tamil Nadu Government. They had requested a team of doctors from AIIMS. We have sent a team of specialists from AIIMS Dr Khilani, Dr Trikha, Dr Narang and Dr Talwar. We hope that doctors from AIIMS and Apollo will be able to help in her recovery. We pray to God that she regains her health,” Nadda said. The team of AIIMS doctors inlcude pulmonologist Dr GC Khilnani, anaesthetist Dr Anjan Trikha, cardiac surgeon Dr Sachin Talwar and cardiologist Dr Rajiv Narang.
Party workers, who had gathered in large numbers outside the hospital after news of her cardiac arrest broke, braved midnight rains and continued to wait outside, praying for the recovery of ‘Amma’ (mother), as she is fondly called by her supporters.
Several celebrities and politicians have expressed their concern over Jayalalithaa health and wishing for her speedy recovery.
